Very cool I love the future-retroness of their design I've always been fan of Clavia, the better digital emulations out there imo

those things are the worst excuse for a "drawbar organ" i've ever played- trying to do an organ trio gig on a clavia electro organsynth is like doing dental work with a hacksaw and some whisky- RUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. they'd have to capture jimmy smith and dr. lonnie smith, in the color red of course, inside this thing to save it. sorry for the hating, i've suffered through some long nights on the bandstand on the last nord electro organ- you call those drawbars? ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh |

Hmmmm.... I don't get it. This is a strange design, who is it aimed at? Dual manual screams out "traditional B3 player", but what traditional player wants buttons instead of drawbars? Of course, the lack of drawbars means it's lighter which would mean it's great for the local gigging keyboard player....except it doesn't have any of the electro's additional sounds, so the player would need additional gear for those sounds... What am I missing here? |

A first for a Clavia product is the Delay and reverb. They've always been so anti-effect. Even a leslie sim. Nice. Way to loosen up guys. I would have bought a Lead 3 years ago if they just would put a delay it there. But buttons for drawbars on the Organ...WTF? |

LOL - where are the drawbars? Have they never watched a Hammond player at work? |

| My keyboard player got tired of lugging his M3 to gigs and ended up buying one of their Stage models. He said it only took him a few gigs to adjust to using the buttons instead of drawbars. He runs his through a Motion Sound and it sounds brilliant.

Cool product, but where are the drawbars???? Of course you can get used to using the buttons, but there are some B3 drawbar-techniques you just can´t perform using buttons. And with a $3600 dual-manual B3-clone, I want to be able to work it like the real thing. Sorry Clavia, I love you guys, but not putting real drawbars on this one is a mistake. FWIW, I own and play both a real B3 and a Stage88. Stein Tore

Another Hammond model without drawbars. sigh. Why don't the people that make this stuff get it? But the futuristic look and color would coordinate well with the new Rhodes for the up and coming keyboardists. |

| The C1 Rules
Hey- You're talking to a person who HATES the fake stuff- I own a '57 B3 (played and autographed by Billy Preston, I might add) but for day-to-day gigging and session stuff I use the C1 and it's hands-down the best "fake" organ out there. It sounds really incredible even when recording direct. Admittedly it would be great to have real drawbars but honestly- you get used to the virtual ones really, really quick. And the Vox and Farfisas sound shockingly great and raw as well. I did play a Hammond XK-3c and have to admit it sounded pretty frickin' good as well. |

i have a b3 but the nords drawbars are a great alternative. funny how when i started this thread the nord c1 was called the c3 but they changed it last minute, now we are at the c2-do you think we might see a c3 again? |

| Nord C1
I've been playing B3 since 1966. until I heard and played the new Diversi I thought the Nord C1 was the best, however the Divrsi takes it to another level of refinement and authenticity. Check out the Joey D. demos on their site. the chorus/leslie effect/overdrive and overall tone are the closest I've ever played to the real thing. GAK Diversi Organ Web Site - Home Page

These Diversi sound examples are really impressive. When I bought the Nordstage which is a fine instrument all in all the B3 sound didn't convince me. May be it's time for a change regarding organs. ukm |
