Sounds great. Steven's a rock guy so naturally he has some of the more rockin kicks and snares in the audio demos. But, kick8 is a perfect example of a nice round and rich felt beater kick that can serve well in a variety of music, including this fantastic acoustic mix you have here David, good work.

In other news, we launched part of the first page of the new Steven Slate Drums 1.5 website, its very much under construction but check it out, I chose the color scheme! A whole new section of Elite Mixer Drum demos is being made as I write this.

Sure, if I can help...

But maybe it would be better in about 10 days when I am done with this album.
Until then I am pretty much bizzy.

BTW, I know here are some really great guys doing the hi end mastering and
I wish there was some money left for this. The last song is still not mastered yet.
as I usually do it. Just a quick fix I'd say. So do you think it would really make it
that different if it would be done by someone else in some hi end mastering studio?

BANG!! Your drums sounds AMAZING!!! HUGE!!!thumbsup

If i were to buy the Project version, couldnt i just use the .wav files
ie= drag the appropriate sample to an audio track, and place it under
the original drum hit, in the Nuendo arrange window? I could just program
with DKFH as normal, render them to wave, then drag in your replacement
samples, right? I could simply keep my DKFH hats and cymbals up, and
X the snare and kick..

Or map my own instruments with Kontakt 2?

If this is doable, im ready to buy. I have DKFH Superior and Custom n Vintage.
But it takes years to mix them to sound like your drums.

It be nice to have mappings, as 2.0 will have, but i have no idea when 2.0 is coming
out, and you probably dont either, am i right?

You must get a great feeling from knowing people like us, with 100 gigs
of drum samples, drooling to get hold of just a few of your sounds.

Hope to hear back on this soon!!
You are a Druma GOD!!

... my first attempt at drum replacement

... it sure sounds a hell of a lot better than the plastic like hits I was hearing from my unreplaced tracks

Not sure what I could do better .... I hit the buss with some crane song trakkers for glue

tell me if it sucks balls

Two rock/alt mixes using some steven slate samples to beef up the drums

rock/pop band
2 songs are in the player, check it out and let me know what you think these songs are completed and mastered by the wonderful brad brad blackwood (highly recommend him for mastering.
(mixed,produced,engineered by me)
i blended ... kick 1, maple toms and birch blended, snare 10 Z2 and 8 z2 rooms blended in with my snare and my triggers of the drum set. they were a great help as my room is pretty dead and i wanted some natural reverb and added balls on the drums.
as always steven slate helps out my dead drum room! with his wonderful samples, btw bro congrats on getting picked by sweetwater i caught your product in thier huge mag. thanks for putting out a killer product i highly recommend it to everyone i know and yes i actually use them! they arent just another folder to look at on my computer

any questions feel free to leave a reply and i will do my best to answer, thanks guys!

Hey
Quick question

From what I read on the first version it was not recorded to 2 inch tape but the ad now says the new version(which I suppose includes the old version) Is recorded to tape.

Does this mean all the first samples were recorded Again but this time to tape?

thanks

Everything I've ever recorded for this drum sample collection was to tape. Even the cymbals. If you read otherwise, its improper information.

Studer 820s mostly...

Look out for the new 3.0 thread coming soon... until then lets put this oooold thread back to rest

$60 from 2.0 to 3.0 (its no longer 2.5 since its such a huge upgrade)

any other questions please send to support@stevenslatedrums.com

there will be a new thread announcing the 3.0 release very soon that will probably answer most questions....
