Virtual instruments not showing up

Ever since I installed Pro Tools 11 I have been having issues with certain plugins. A few of them refuse to show up and I can't figure out why! The virtual instruments in the AIR Creative Collection such as Xpand! 2, Mini Grand, etc. are in the AAX plugins folder, but they do not show up in Pro Tools. I also downloaded the new 64-bit AAX PLAY engine from EastWest, and once again, it shows up in the plugins folder, but not in Pro Tools. I have tried reinstalling Pro Tools (I also updated it to 11.0.1) as well as reinstalling the plugins, but nothing seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It also might be preferential to stick with 10 till most plug ins are in AAC format

I've tried re-installing and updating, but it didn't work.
For the time being, I have been sticking to 10 so I can use my plugins, but I would think that the virtual instruments that come with Pro Tools 11 should at least work. They are 64-bit AAX and are in the correct folder. I just can't figure out why it won't recognize them :/

Do you not see the plugins in the AudioSuite pulldown menu?

EDIT: Just checked, and instruments do not show up an the AudioSuite pulldown, but do show up in the inserts under "instrument" if you choose a new "instrument" track.

Are you on Mac or Windows? I think Avid moved the plugin folder in PT11HD. Not sure about Windows. Was this a fresh install, or did you install over PT10?

I am on a Mac and I installed PT 11 in addition to PT 10. So both of them are on my system.

There are two places that PT11 has plugins....Library>application support>avid and also in the PT11 app itself, which is accessed by right clicking the PT11 app and choosing "show contents" in there somewhere are two plugin folders as well. Also, Make sure the plugins have the .axx extension, and not .dpm.

There was a thread where a guy installed both and his system failed, you need to install 10 first then 11 not the other way around.

So uninstall both and re - install , 10 then 11

That totally solved the problem!!! I honestly didn't know you could show contents by right clicking on PT 11. So I took the plugins which were in my Applications>Avid>Pro Tools>AAX plugins (which is where I thought they should be, along with the other directory you mentioned) and moved them to PT 11 contents>PluginIns>Core Plug-Ins and it worked perfectly! Thank you for all your help! And thank you everyone else for trying!

Yes, the PT11 installer is different than PT10. It's now just a drag and drop application, so it does not create an Avid folder in Applications. The Avid folder is for PT10 plugins.

This has an advantage because you can keep your PT10 and PT11 plugins separate, keeping your PT10 RTAS and TDM plugins in the Avid folder.
