Pro tools 10 HD wont recognize internal mic

for whatever reason pro tools 10 HD wont allow me to use my internal mic to record ideas and such anymore but a few days ago it worked fine. i dont get it! i checked the I/O settings and it looks ok then again maybe i dont know what im looking at. its very frustrating. im over seas with the military and its the only way i have to record ideas until my mic arrives any ideas? thanks

Is your playback engine "Pro Tools Aggregate I/O" or "Built-in Input/Output", in the Avid Core Audio drop-down?"

Sometimes mine switches to Pro Tools Aggregate even when I don't want it to. Maybe that is causing an issue with your internal mic, which should show up under the Avid Core Audio drop down thingy.

Just a guess, though! Good luck.

That is the Mac's Audio Midi Setup,
Provided your Sampling rate is the same in your PT session, you need to use the PT "Playback Engine" Menu to Setup the Core Audio Input/Output Driver.

In this case, you want to use the internal Microphone of your Mac Laptop, you need to Select the "Pro Tools Aggregate I/O" to use both the internal Mic and the Laptop Audio Output at the same time.

Don't you have an Interface for your HD setup?
