Eleven Rack with HDX and AAX

Hey All,

So i am a bit confused about how some things will work with AAX plugins and external DSP with and HDX card. For example the Eleven Rack has its own DSP accelerator to take care of the processing. But it is also listed as an AAX plugin native and DSP. So is the Eleven Rack's DSP just acting as an additional chip alongside what is inside the HDX card? Or is the Elven Rack's DSP even being used anymore?

On a side note. What is going to happen with UAD Cards? UA will most likely come out with AAX plugins... but where will they be processed? Will their current DPS work as an AAX host? or will AAX only be able to be done on HDX cards?

Thanks!!

No idea as to your first part, but as to the 2nd, I'd imagine it'll work exactly like the RTAS does now - PT will see the UAD plug as an AAX native plugin, but it'll actually be processed on the UAD card. Nothing to do with HDX/AAX DSP plugins - that's completely separate.

You're confusing the Eleven Rack and the Eleven Plugin. Using the Eleven Rack is just like using a hardware reverb box fom 20 years ago. It's self contained and will always work as long as you can hook it up. It does not function as a plugin.
