Mountain Lion - MUST you uninsall ProT first?

I know Avid reccommends that you partition a drive, unintall PT (full), install Mountain Lion, then re-install PT.

But...

DO YOU HAVE TO?

I know they do this so that you don't bring corrupt elements/files into the new install, but I don't have a single issue.

Has anyone upgraded to Mountain Lion without doing a fresh partition and uninstalling PT?

Thanks!!
