P TOOLS HD NATIVE Flatten question help!

I upgraded to Pro Tools HD Native recently ... although I have to say a huge improvement for PT I STILL cannot bounce MIDI to audio easily?...This is Pro Tools 10!!!????..... Am I missing something here or does ANYBODY at Digidesign know if they are EVER going to implement an instant flatten function from MIDI to AUDIO?????..... I have searched Hi and low as well as asked Digi Reps and it seems all I get is a Blank stare?... Is it so hard for Pro Tools to do this. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN DONE YET!!!!!! For Producers, it makes our jobs SO much harder...99% of our time is spent rendering MIDI to AUDIO

IS THERE AN EASIER WAY in PT HD NATIVE 10?

I am forced to Produce in other programs JUST to do this quickly? and it becomes a hassle to have to produce in other programs and then render all audio files out JUST to mix in HD native?... not to mention some programs make it difficult to bounce certain files mono ( kiks etc..bass) and other stereo?...why can't digi catch up with the rest of the world and implement a "BOUNCE IN PLACE" or a "FLATTEN" function from MIDI to audio instantly?... I spent 4 hours this morning turning my MIDI to audio in order to do a proper mix?... am I missing something here? someone please help me....

You really didn't know that b4 u bought it? RTAS/TDM unable to do that, and many of the modern things in newer coded daws from their designs. It's been promised. That's one of the reasons for the AAX switch. Hopefully in Pro Tools 11 this function will show. It would be a whole lot simpler to not have to use other programs for production and just be able to stay in PT.

Are you bouncing each track separately? Shouldn't take 4 hrs to bounce your MIDI instrument tracks to audio in real time unless it's a 4hr long track. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your problem/question . . .

What is 99% of your time being taken up turning midi tracks to audio?

Say you have 10 midi tracks you want to convert to audio...

1. create 10 new audio tracks (just enter 10 in the number box...)
2. route each midi track to its respective audio track. (10 clicks of the mouse).
3. arm each audio track...
4. Hit record...

While I agree, it is a worthy feature to include and it hopefully coming... I don't really see how it would take 1% of your time... let alone 99%. It is pretty straight forward.

For step two you can select all 10 instrument tracks and use the sequential assign function (shft opt cmd) and it will automatically assign each next track to the next bus, and you can do the same on the audio tracks.

Thank you Ryan C, Finally an Intelligent answer!!! at least SOME attempt at a shortcut key..lol... for you others...OBVIOUSLY I KNEW IT NEVER DID THIS!!! AND OBVIOUSLY IT DOESNT LITERALLY TAKE 4 HOURS... but for those of you goons who have to have EVERYTHING SPELLED OUT LITERALLY for you!... connect the freaking DOTS!... sheesh... anyway I was "trying " to say....

I was hoping by now at PT 10 there would be SOME KIND OF RELEASE update and or SOMETHING, I mean it IS 2012 isn't it?... ok , so...creating 10( in reality it's more like 32-50 midi tracks tracks)--- and then setting busses for each and every track and then recording them in IN REAL TIME ( 4 min plus)...., and then going back and hiding the old tracks and then re settting your busses back to NO INPUT for mixing, yeah real smart digi...( Hopefully you DONT have to add more midi parts in the midst of a mix where your busses are ALREADY being used..) and this isn't a hassle? for Producers who make BIG productions ( 80 100 tracks) + this takes hours...

If you want to be an expert at Pro Tools your HAVE to read the manual from cover to cover.
The global track routing shortcut has been around for years - I remember using it in PT Mix in Pro Tools 5.
