Does protools on a Macbook pro benefit from more than 4 gigs of memory?

Hi just got a new macbook pro, the 8,1 intel core I5 2.4 with 4 gigs of memory.
I'm using Protools 10 Hd, no cards just the software.
Have you found any real benefit from going beyond 4 gigs of memory with this combo?
I'm using it for live performance with the maudio axiom pro 61
and xpand2, using just once instance at a time.
I'd like to use structure though, so I thought I'd see what others real world experiences are.
The upgrade to 8 gigs is only $55 so I may do that but am curious if
anyone has seen a benefit from even 8 gigs?

Using HD10 without cards does give you the disc cache feature, which benefits immensely from having more ram.

If you'll be using Structure (or any other RAM-intensive instrument), you'll benefit from an upgrade to 8 GB of RAM. Pro Tools is a 32-bit program and can only access 4 Gigs of RAM because of this, but the operating-system itself and other running programs or background processes need some RAM as well, so there's less than 4 GB available for PT. If you'd have 8 Gigs, there will be the full 4 GB of RAM available for Pro Tools to use.

I put 16gb in my 2011 mbp for a lil over $100. I run logic and protools off it and haven't had a glitch. It runs ridiculously smooth. Its probably overkill but I use a lot of insts in logic and where it would clip from using large sound libraries it doesn't anymore. good luck!
