lost track

went into pro tools today and the bass track on my song is gone ..Is there anyway i can recover this track?Or how do i get to the backup files

With this much info, difficult to help.

Are the audio files still in the folder?

The backup files are in the "session file backups" folder. If you actually have auto backup enabled.

i don't think i have it anymore.The tech at sweetwater says its gone.I think i had it in a temp folder and windows erased it

I have a lot of sympathy, but the OP's problems are down to a lack of computer knowledge, not a pro tools problem.
