Newby Question! Can I run Protools 10 on this Duo Core Mac?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts! I plan on running 1 BFD track, 3 or 4 tracks of amplitube, and some vocal tracks.. I've been using logic 8 with minimal problems, but recently did a session on pro tools 8 and prefer it.

Yes. I have one with slightly lower specs and I've run Protools 7, 8, 9, and now 10 on it, and it works great. I can do quite a bit with it.

Imac 2.66 and ptx

I have run 8-10 on an 09 iMac 2.66 with 16 g of owc ram no problems. There are bugs in ptx but make certain you do optimizations as per page on avid site , download plug tools to manage your plug ins and if you don't have external drives for sessions and VIs/samples think about it !

I have a similar system...core 2 duo 2.53gHz. I have 8GB though and I have HD, so I can use disk cache. I'm just using a single SSD drive for system and audio.

I can run 8 channels of Eleven before I choke the CPU. I've worked on 24 track projects with no problem. Using an Mbox 3.
