new avid mbox... can it input mic and output midi?

I have an acoustic piano and was wondering if I can input song ideas via a microphone into my avid mbox interface and output the sound as midi? Basically I'm trying to do a real simple input of an acoustic instrument and notate the song ideas with some sort of transposition software. There are many midi input devices for guitars I found but none for piano that weren't crazy expensive and then I thought "Hey, I have an mbox for recording in pro tools... can that thing switch an analog microphone into a midi out?" So, call me a newb if you must but I am an analog kind of guy and have no idea of this? Thanks for any direction.

The cheapest, most bulletproof solution is to buy a MIDI keyboard and play on that.

Trying to do polyphonic pitch to MIDI using microphones and an acoustic piano is not going to end well. You'll spend more time editing than recording, and that's just what you don't want for recording song ideas.

Thank you, Zooey. That's what I was wondering. Thanks as well, psych monkey. Just was wondering more about if this was possible easily and knowing that poly with a mic is a mess answers it. Thanks again.
