I/O limit for running PTHD natively

So with a PT9 or 10 Ilok asset you can run PTHD natively correct? What is the limit to the I/O?

I'm thinking for current HD owners, would keeping my core card and asset then upgrade the aurora to the LT-USB card work to go native? Or do they put a limit on the I/O when it's in HD native (without the native card) mode?

Great thanks,

So it looks like that is an option. This is probably why there are so many core cards on ebay without ilok assets? How does that work? It would seem that one of the parties is likely to get stuck holding the grenede when it goes off.

oh and edit 32i/o at all sample rates?

With PT10, and HD10 Native, the 32 Channel ASIO/Core Audio Hardware Driver, will not modify Channel Count according to sampling rate, in my understanding.

However Pro Tools 10 Native and Pro Tools HD10, is limited with track count when using higher sampling rates.

Here is the helpful chart of differences between Pro Tools Native and Pro Tools HD. Avid | Pro Tools|HD Systems
