And they'd be wrong. 9 was in development WAY before the 8 crack.

There are plenty of other options for daw's. If you feel protools isn't worth the cost use something else. Simple really....

I know its still early, but has anyone heard any rumors about pt11? I mean, it has been 1/2 a year since the last release..and it was less than 1 year release between 9 and 10...so it wouldn't be too off to think there could be some rumors. I haven't upgraded to 10 yet, because I feel like I wont care about the features so much. I'm hoping PT11 has more features that I care about, but then again, all my plugins wont work because they will require AAX only....Anyway, once I get the AAX plugin thing figured out, Ill probably go from pt9 to pt11 because the single upgrade price will probably be cheaper than the two separate updates put together.

Yep, I digress...any rumors in the mill? Frozen tracks? Offline bouncing for all ITB users? Anything?

I doubt very much we'll see PT11 until at least the end of the year if not in 2013. What features are you looking for (apart from 64-bit) that's not in PT9 or PT10?

PT10 has been hit and miss for a lot of users but the new features are excellent IMO. Clips Gain for example helps me a lot and when I manage get a workstation that can run PT 10 HD Native, the Disk Cache feature will come very handy indeed.

If PT9 is working very well for you then it may be a good idea to wait until PT11 is released. I haven't seen many rumours so far but there is no doubt in my mind that Avid will release PT11 in 64-bit.

Frozen tracks, offline bouncing (ITB only obviously, hardware cant do this)...just a few things that would save KILLER time...esp the first one. A lot of the time I'm limited to my CPU because I dont like how long it takes to bounce something. Lets say I need more CPU, I might bounce 10 vocal tracks to one stereo track, but I'm not happy with it later so I have to turn off the voice of the stereo track, turn on the voice of the other 10 mono vocal tracks, make the changes, then re print in real time. This is a real waste of time..but I love PT too much to ever change DAWs.
