Slate Digital Announce AAX Support for Pro Tools HDX

Check out the new Slate Digital RC TUBE console emulation plugin running in AAX format at the AVID booth on the new HDX system.

In 2012, all Slate Digital plugins will be available in this new format.

Cheers,

Questions!

Will this include both the Native AAX and DSP AAX plugins?

Will this be a paid upgrade?

Have you noticed a difference in audio quality running VCC on AAX in PT 10?

Is VCC more efficient as a AAX plugin?

I own slate VCC and can't imagine going back to working without it! It would be fantastic to to run VCC on every channel via the DSP on the HDX cards! Thanks for your time.

Bill.

I was under the impression that there aren't two separate versions of the plug-in, and that instead, .AAX is a uniform platform that can be processed internally on the host CPU, or on HDX cards.

This would provide anyone with the plug-in and processing requirements to have exactly the same project on two very different machines, and it be exactly the same.

If you have the HDX card, and AAX VCC plug-in, it can be processed solely on the DSP chip or native CPU.

Heres hoping we don't have to pay to upgrade from RTAS.

I'm gonna make certain of some things and then I'll be back to answer all questions regarding AAX.

I'd be curious to know when they will have an upgrade to the full version now that I've gotten a taste of the RC Tube!

I thought the whole idea behind aax plugins was to unite dps and native systems. This meaning, dsp-accelerated systems still benefit from more power, but the same plugins can be used on native systems as well (cpu powered) - allowing for sessions to be shared cross-system. Any news on the VCC plugin regarding aax?

If Steven Slate Drums goes AAX DSP, it will be the only real choice for HDX users.

Not gonna happen. VIs need quick access to RAM and inside the Avid HDX architecture doesn't allow for that IMO.

FG-X and VCC, along with the new Tape Sim are the likely candidates for AAX DSP.
