Pt 10 will be announced

Hello,

Just saw an add on one of Sweden's biggest musicstore announcing PT 10.
4Sound - Musikinstrument till bra priser

Same price for crossgrade as it was from Pt8 to Pt9.

this means routing and delay comp will be handled on the native side and/or new hardware. todays tdm can't do this!

Pretty steep prices for SW, when Logic 10 new will reportedly go for $299

Very steep for an upgrade. They may be including the features of Complete as standard stuff which could account for the increased price of the stand alone PT.

From the Dave Hill/Cranesong thread - new DSP architecture - plugin format labeled "AAX" in PT10.

is this on PT9 standalone, or are we talking HD here?

I've literally just bought PT9 a week ago, and if this is true, I'm less than happy.

Don't they still do the free upgrade if you buy close enough to a new release? It's been a while, but when I bought my HD rig, it "came with" PT7, but I got a free upgrade to 8 when that was released shortly thereafter.

It has been a while, so that definitely could have changed I suppose.

Yea I'm only 4 weeks on 9 and there was no hint of another UG in the future. Plus looking at prices if i upgraded again it would cost me more than it would have for a straight LE to 10 upgrade... Also not going to be happy .. I feel a letter coming on lol

I really hope this is the case, they will retain a happy customer then... As opposed to a really bitter ticked off one

Every feature they're hyping Reaper has been doing for many versions

Where did you see this?

My biggest question is if PT10's native performance makes it viable for composers now? Is the AAX platform better than RTAS from a performance-perspective?

It's such a shame for avid about no 64 bit, this really isn't 2008, it's freaking 2011! and with all these new plugins and technology advancing. I thought atleast by pro tools 10 they'd have this, but another big reason why i left pro tools and won't give avid anymore money. I mean windows 8 won't even have a 32 bit os

I'm waiting to see this too. My guess is that it will be much better being that issues with in the RTAS format caused the performance problems with VI's. Surely they would of had that in mind when they developed AAX.
