Invader!

Haven't posted on here lately so I guess I'll throw all my new tracks and whatever else I make from now on in this thread.

These are all Dubstep and DnB/Drumstep btw, I do have a few new Electro House tracks on the works that I'll upload either when they're done or whatever.

UPDATE: Here's a preview for my upcoming Electro House Indie Dance Punk EP~

UPDATE: Here's a new free Dubstep track! It's a rearrangement of a track I did for a MOTU corporate video that was played at NAMM 2012! Big ups to MOTU for letting me share it!

Very nice sounds! You should have a good slew of releases lined up soon...a little bit more melodic than some stuff currently out.

Dude, vibrato at 1:55 on Corpses with the choir in the backround is probably one of the coolest things I've heard in dubstep in a long time. Great shit.

This stuff is actually pretty original sounding. I didn't check anything in mono, but I heard a few sounds that might be questionable, so just make sure you're checking nothing phases out in mono. Most clubs that people play at don't play sound in stereo so its always very important!

Probably would give the whole slew of tracks 8/10. Biggest negatives were certain parts were a little too wet with reverb imo. Definitely will be following your stuff...

thanks man, all of these will be released or already have been

I do check my stuff in mono so no major problems there, not everything is perfect though but sometimes it's hard to get everything perfect and stereo and mono

This one is still the best, IMO.

True that, if its perfect in mono, usually sounds boring in stereo..hard to get the perfect amount of width without destroying it :P

Again, great stuff man. Keep pumping em out!

Sounding pretty hype. Last track is the one—hits hard.

Only criticism being that the highs need warming up slightly since they're a touch too plasticky-ITB-dist/eq-boost sounding. Fairly easy to correct though; you're nailing the hard part already.

Hm, funny because I never boost anything except the lows on my snares. I actually low pass most of my synths, specially the distorted ones, and use Decapitator on all my busses. But then again, you can't really judge something like that off a low quality MP3.

Yeah, all ITB. I don't think I'm ever going back to using hardware synths. Only thing I've kept is the Sherman Filterbank but it just sits there most the time. I did try to sell it and sometimes consider it but it's so awesome guitar/synth that I don't want to sell it.

Happy new year to both btw!

SOOO, I'll bite... How do you get those crazy nice stabby plucky things I hear often in your tracks (like at 3:18 in the one in this post). Ive been trying to nail them for the longest time. I use an arp and automate the arp pattern/note length/arp swing but I can't get it nearly as 'ripping' (idk if that is the best description) as your by a long shot... I first remember hearing these type sounds on an old Tony Senghore ep I had looong ago but I just cant get them... Sorry for the obnoxious 'how canz i maeks theze soonds' post but I have to say, you sir have them nailed! Any help would be greatly appreciated, if you dont want to share I can completely understand... FWIW the only synths I have atm are virus B and SP. Thanks again, and let me know of any releases, I will deffo purchase...

it's just whatever waveform + noise + lowpass + amp/filter envelope with short decay + distortion + eq + some compression if you'd like

you have to tweak it until it sounds how you want it to but that's the basic idea

Thanks for the reply. The bit Im referring to is the pattern more than the sound itself. It comes in first at 1:20-1:21 and then again at 2:20-2:21. The bit that goes bzzrun-brrt-tdricka-tricka-tricka-zrounnn... haha, you like that explanation?!? e... anyway...
Im guessing it is done with loads of ITB lfo automation, which would be the kiss of death for me as Im otb. Ive expirimented with automating lfo/arp depth and clock but I just can't get them as rhythmic and plucky as yours. Instead I end up with wobbles instead of plucky rad electro-ish patterns you have here. Thanks again for the reply.

curious, invader!... what kind of looks are you getting by the big show promoters? Seems you have a nice track lineup compiled.. certainly more is to come, and likely even better as you continue, so IMO you shouldn't be in too much of a rush... that being said, what's it like for you finding GOOD shows to play ?

Well I haven't played any shows yet actually. I did have one booked in December but that show didn't really go very well so I ditched.

It's hard being taken seriously if you don't have 5 thousand facebook likes and I refuse to pay for them. I do have a manager and he's set up a bit of a tour for me and the rest of the artists he manages though but I'm not sure he even takes me seriously. I mean for ****s sake, he didn't even realize my name had an exclamation mark on it until I pretty much yelled at him over facebook. First couple of shows I'm playing have my name misspelled on the flyer.

Anyways, I do have some decent shows coming up, one I'm opening for Revolvr and the other I'm opening for Space Cowboy.

hmmm this is all a bit discouraging... i guess all you can do is keep pumping out the tunes though... i guess that's all any of us can do...thanks for the reply.. wish you the best of luck on your journey, you deserve success for sure. If you ever make it out to southern california, i'll be there...

some of the snare's layers are bit offset from the kick, if they were all hitting at exactly the same time it'd sound way too crowded

almost 7 years of f0cking around with all types of music haha

also, another freebie, did a mash up of "Antidote" by Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party and "This Is SubVibe" by SubVibe

did a little more than just mashed them up, added my drums and remade the sub bass line

EDIT: currently down on SoundCloud due to automatic copyright, haven't had time to try and resolve this to here's the track on YouTube instead, with a link to MediaFire

my bad, I read this when I was half asleep super tired after a show haha

and it depends how inspired I am, sometimes it takes me a couple of days, others takes me weeks just because I let the tracks sit while I do other things I need to get out of the way first like paid remixes, or I'm just waiting for creativity to struck again
