ADR/Animation mic preamp?

I am looking for the best mic preamp to equip new ADR stage. I have used*Millennia HV-3C for ADR and Animation with simple drawmer comp/limiter,s For years with great results. I'm looking for other suggestions of gear that I might be able to demo or check out for basic dialog recording.

We have and love the Avalon 2022's and Buzz MA2.2's, both super-clean and detailed with tons of headroom. We also have a couple API 512C's, which the "big voice" VO guys seem to prefer -- very beefy. And we've rented a Grace a few times -- very similar to the Avalon & Buzz.

A couple different outside studios I use have the same Millennia as yours, and they seem fine, too.

Is there something you don't like about the Millennia? That's what I use and I love it.

The DACS clarity MicAmp is great too.

The best ADR recording I've heard was recorded on the Millenna. (LA Studios).

Carlos Sotolongo was at the controls. I think that makes the preamp sound better

The gear only matters so much.

My Recordings/Credits

For ADR some places use SoundDevices MP-1s... matches the production sound better that way. But that's often in addition to any of the above or others.

For animation I'd want something with a little heft...

+1 to Whitecat. IMHO ADR should be as clean as possible. It's the rerecording mixer's job to add whatever warmth, crispness, or other adjective is needed to match production dialog.

Animation and VO is a different story... (but even there, I'd rather record as clean as possible, and add the adjectives in post where they're adjustable.)

For the record I'm using ATI M100 preamps in the booth, remote controlled from the console.
