OMF export from PT10

Can automation and clip levels as well as panning be exported from PT10 in a form other DAWs can read? The manual says it can, my experiments here have been able to get the edits but with all the fades and crossfades rendered as new fade clips and no automation or clip levels. With what non PT DAWs does this work?

thanks

It looks like more information is translated via AAF. I have exported fader automation from PT to Fairlight using AAF, but clip gain is not coming across. This is very weird because I get all that from OMF files from FCP and MC editors. As time permits, I'm trying to shake out what all does come across by generating very specific projects in PT, exporting with and without 'AVID compatibility' checked, and see the results. I'm thinking that Protools 'short-loads' the feature set on the AAF export by design. Why make it easy for the competition to work on Protools project? It's only a guess, but judging by how much information I get out of AAF/OMF files from NLE systems, one begins to wonder...

I haven't tried Fairlight, but don't get any more info via AAF than I do via OMF on the systems I have tried. The rendered fade files are a pain, really. I've tried various "in between" utilities, AV Transfer, AATransfer and ProConvert but none has been any more successful than the other, and some can't find the rendered fade files--I end up with empty clips for them.

Big props to Fairlight for bringing their big booth to AES SF. Big boos to Avid for not showing up at all.

I know what you mean about the rendered fade files. It is so frustrating to get nice complete OMFs - with all the clip gain and realtime fades intact - from video edit systems, and yet none of that can come cleanly from Protools. I usually get a rendered fade in a separate clip without the realtime parameter adjustments (other than re-writing fader automation).
Actually, it's not probably going to matter much more since Fairlight V4 software is able to host Protools 10 as a plugin, I'll just open the PT project and go from there.

believe new in aaf from media composer and pt 10 is the ability to bring over automation and basic plugins like dverb and such. Clip gain as well. Though not sure about clip gain into other daws and I'm not sure they can push past +12 that the faders were locked to before PT10. Might have to render the gain and then export

I have the same results as Bill with an AAF into Fairlight. Fader automation will show up but no clip gain. It is supposed to be supported but I haven't seen it.
