New Blackmagic Media Express Features

A few months ago I emailed tech support at Blackmagic design wondering why they we are unable to insert audio only into laybacks using their Media Express software. I recently got an email saying this was possible.

Quote:
Media Express 3.2

• WAV, AIFF, AIF QuickTime Audio clips can now be linked to Video clips for playback.
• WAV, AIFF, AIF QuickTime Audio clips can now be "Exported To Tape" for inserting into Master Tapes.
While tape based work flows are going away, this does offer awesome and CHEAP functionality to audio engineers who do not have an HD or Sync I/O system. $400 for frame locked playbacks over SDI.

And for those who do have HD systems, I imagine this could also be set up to do bulk laybacks using embedded timecode.

Either way, it is good news for all from a great company
