Pushing channels thru analog sounding plugin in post?!?

As I understand, in music mixing, placing analog modeling plugins on all audio channels (such as Slate Digital, SSL etc...) and mixing thru them to have a bigger analog sound, is quite a common method.
do any of you use this technique also in the sound for picture, post production world?
right now my mixes are suffering from a bit of "thinners" to them and thought this could give a little more presence to the final mix...If so, what do you use?

Not usually, can be used as an effect maybe for some sound design I guess, but getting that "analog sound" is not really a focus for post.

My Recordings/Credits

I've been using my UAD plugins on my dialog these days.
That and equality and equick for main eq and notching.
I use the pultecpro, la3a, VOG. Amongst other things.

I was very glad to get away from waves.

I used the Waves Kramer Tape emulation plugin on my dialog stem for a recent movie that was meant to have the feel of a '50s movie. It helped in that sense, though it could sometimes put too much compression on the dialog (even though it was nice compression) and had me automating the input and output levels to keep more dynamics for some scenes.

I am not afraid to use them on Dialog when I get "harsh" sounding dialog, if it will help round it out. Usually it's a case by case basis, but if it works...it works. As many have pointed out "If it sounds good, it is good!".
