| Get that "vintage sound"
I recently have been trying to figure out a way to truly emulate the vocal sound/recording that was heard mostly in vintage 50's music. (particularly doo-wop/early rock and roll songs). Obviously they didn't record digitally back then, but there has to be a way to achieve a nearly identically tone in this technologically advanced time we are in now. Obviously a big part of the "sound" i'm talking about is huge reverb, but as far as the vocal warmth and tube overdriven dynamics heard on the following tracks.

What type of outboard gear/ plugins/ micing distance and technique do you think would be best to get these sounds now a days. I'm also thinking about buying one of the summit tube pre-amps, perhaps this would be suitable.
