In a luxury room with a digi003, and 7K to spend..

...I think I know the answer to this, but maybe I just need a "push over the cliff" as Spinal Tap says.

Mixing TV; mostly documentary/reality stuff and sometimes drama

Have got the basics such as

5.1 Genelec monitors, Avid artist ctrl, SPL monitor controller, izotope RX, waves restoration/WLM, massey, etc

A room built by sweden´s leading acoustic consultant

Voice booth, a rode nt2a and a summit audio preamp.

And a digi003...

How much will buying a HD Native w Omni improve my work?

7K as in dollars.

This is. Really an answer to your question but I would spend the money on a cedar DNs one.

Do you have CPTK? How big are your sessions? What kind of computer?
If you need high track counts, low latency ect. and have at least an 8-core, could be a good move. Otherwise you will gain very little in performance, assuming you have CPTK.
I also agree that a DNS would be a very wise investment.

Agree with Brandon.
DNS would be number one.
I won't mix without one.

Ok, interesting, suprised by your answers!! I did expect advices concerning soundcards. So a DNS One makes more difference than switching beteween an digi003 and a HD Native?

I have zero experience of DNS one. I use waves and Izotope, letting go of a lot of cloth noise but taming noise floors and clicks and pops.

It´s an harpertown 3.2 ghz 10 GB ram with CPTK, 40 tracks maximum.

IMO going native would be a huge waste. I had a similar setup (woodcrest with a 002), the converter upgrade was nice, so was the lower latency- but unless you're doing a lot of tracking, what a colossal waste of $. +1 DNS!

I vote for getting grown-up Pro Tools (trim automation!) and more faders. But them I've never used DNS...

There was a sort of natural reverb when firing at the Behringer and it sounded sweet to my ears.

Get just teh Protools native software and Ceadr DNS.
Best of both worlds.
I think the PT'S hd native software can be had for $850
