To replicate or duplicate?...that is the question.

Just wondering which route to take. I know that duplication to cdr is much cheaper than replication to cd.....but I'm afraid of compatibility issues with older cd players. I don't want someone spending their money on my product and it not working in their old player. Is this a valid concern?
