Mystery of DAE error -9060

Hey Guys

Appreciate all the assistance I have received regarding my previous inquiry.

The breakdown is as follows. In order to discern the difference between audio bounced in the box on PT9 and the audio out of my ensemble I patched from the outs of the ensemble back into the interface and recorded my session. Simple enough right ? Apparently not, just after completing the recording I press the spacebar and get hit with a DAE -9060, 9031 error. From the little I have gathered regarding this error it is playback error related to corrupted audio. How is that possible though? The session is a post production session that is thirty minutes in length. I have only managed to bounce a portion of the audio, but the full thirty minutes is met with this error. My macbook pro is new, the ensemble is new...I don't understand how this can be possible.

Second question, I have an upgrade to PT10 on my hard drive, if I update it will I lose my session data ? for example will I need to reload my plug ins ? A bit of a silly question but I am tad paranoid, my pro tools gives me hell. To this day there is clicking noise that pops every 15 minutes or so that comes up when I load PT9. beginning not to favor this DAW dude.

Try consolidating the recorded audio and see if that fixes the error

Just gave it a whirl, same result. Is it at all possible that peaking could cause such a thing? I notice that I peak during the middle and end parts of my session. It just so happens that I can record the beginning without a hitch....hmmmm

I fixed -9060 errors by deleting databases in PT9. Read this:

Computer Optimization Guides – Mac and Windows

Clone your boot drive to an external so you can try out PT10 before committing

It's unlikely that the recorded audio is the cause of the 9060 errors. 9060 can also be corrupt fades files. What I normally do when I see a 9060 is mute all the audio in the area on the error, both behind and in front of, until the error does not happen. Then I'll one by one unmute audio until I get the error again. Bingo, you found the corrupt audio. Consolidate it to fix it. Yes I think data bases can also cause 9060 errors so trash them as well. Good luck.

This error drove me crazy for about 6 months earlier this year. I do not know what kind of disk system you are using but for me, we use a TerraBlock RAID system and I finally troubleshooted the issue to that. I got out tech to upgrade the TerraBlock software and the problem has went away.

I would usually get this message when I would import session data, and then try to work before the waveforms were calculated.

Good luck, this is a annoying error. As far as drive corruption, it could be, but I think it is more based off how the data is being read.
