New kid on block, Monitor overload !

What's doing guys.

The setup is simple, post guy specializing in film and am in the process of creating my own home studio. As of the moment I am working through my KNS-8400 out of an ensemble interface. My next order of business is acquiring monitors that fit well with the ensemble. Ideally Ill be working in 5.1 however for now I merely need stereo monitors. There are just way too many speakers out there and I am getting a lot of opinions.

Any powered speakers will work with your Ensemble. What's your budget?

The magic question surfaces ;-) honestly it is whatever it needs to be. I am thinking something in the realm of 24 give or take. I have been scouting the boards here and there seems to be a strong vote in the direction of blue sky although I have an SBX10 so the woofer would or would not be necessary. Don't have enough exp points to know yet. Appreciate the quick reply.

If you go Blue Sky I'd recommend making the whole system BS, incl controller. Otherwise you'll have to figure out how to integrate the sub yourself, figure out the handoff point etc

Forgive me but what do you mean by controller? The only controller I am familiar with is the Icon-D Control however blue sky doesn't make the d-control as far as I am aware. I also don't see any controllers on the blue sky site.

The controller for your monitors has nothing to do with your DAW controller. It's basically a separate system for your monitoring that takes care of the bass management, and gives you control over levels, calibrations, etc.

F.ex. this nifty little thingy:
Blue Sky

It's (usually?) included if you get yourself a full 5.1 setup....
