I always loved the screams (or whatever it was) of those creatures in War of the Worlds.

Solaris (soderberg version) for the awesome cliff Martinez soundtrack
Blade Runner (as above vangelis)
Alien - narrative based sounds
There is more than likely some astonishing sound design in animae, Ghost In The Shell etc

Hannah on Blue Ray.

Multichannel is pretty amazing. Chemical Brothers soundtrack. Great LFE. Overall very good.

Fifth Element is a classic.

District 9

Watchmen is really really good.

The newest Star Trek if your into that scene.

Definitely the Star Trek films. They're also setting benchmarks in terms of animation. Look at the (new) poor Star Wars films. Then the difference will become visible and audible.

Moon (very nice to hear a less overt/OTT rendering of scifi!)

Absolutely! This and the use of miniatures vs CGI really make this movie stand out.

"Sunshine" (year 2007)
"Renegade"by Jan Kounen, although is not Sci-Fi at all but a 20 minutes drugs illusions scene is impressive as stand alone Sci-fi experience.
