But what mic? Which pre? And most importantly: how many stairs were in the stairwell?????

Or they could have recorded Sutherland normally, and just hung the producers upside down in the hallway...

...Or just hung a couple of Beyer-Dynamic M160s upside-down (Helios pre-amps) at Headley Grange.

I placed my Lavry upside down for a VO session where I needed more air and bite in my ultra-low to high low-mids. It reduced jitter even futher, and tightened up my soundstage so much that even the producer could hear the difference.

I reckon it would have sounded even better had I not been recording in a toilet cubicle using a broken phone handset as a mic.
