1kHz tone at +10db

My plan was to recalibrate a preamp so the VU meter settings were right, but when I read the PAL Plus' manual it had the following line:

• Inject a +10dB 1-kHz tone (2.45V). Verify level using an external DMM or suitable meter.

I could only generate a 0db 1-kHz tone in ProTools. Can I bump the fader to +10 use that output or is there a better way?

You can use the audiosuite gain to do it.

To say +10dB is like saying 10 miles from here…
Where is here…?
Don’t get wrapped about the dB values, they are always in reference to something. And in your question, they will only confuse you and others.
Without going into too much math details: Yes you should be able to generate the required voltage, it just will have a different dB value because the reference will be different.
Assuming that you have your 0VU set to 1.23V (+4dBm = -18dBFS) then to generate 2.45V you need to generate the tone at 6dB above 0VU or at -12 dBFS.

I knew it was a confusing question, just didn't know any other way to ask it and I appreciate the clarification and response!
