Just bought a dcommand question about drag region

Loving the navigation so far but what Im looking for is how to drag a region (clip) once I get it highlighted with the mark in and mark out scroll wheel. Is this possible?

Im getting my user page set up with trim to selection cut and paste but sometimes I like to just drag the region around.

Thank you!

Can't answer your specific question, but generally what I have found is that even though the D-Command and D-Control have many functions mapped to controls on the surface, a lot of times it is more efficient to do them using a keyboard and mouse. I've been using ICONs since they first came out, and over the years I've developed a workflow that fluidly integrates mouse and keyboard and console. I don't even think of them as separate entities anymore. Just because you can do something using console controls doesn't mean it is the most efficient way to do it. For most editing and navigation functions I use the keyboard and mouse because it is more efficient and I don't have to reach for console controls. Many mixing functions I use the console, but I tend to go back and forth to the keyboard depending on what I'm doing.

Thanks Gary. I'll just have to see how my rhythm develops with the console.

Agree with previous posters.. Most of the transport/edit functions are more readily available using a keyboard/mouse (and then I don't have to move out of the sweet-spot - my main section is to the far right on a 24-fader d-command.
With that said, I tend to use the scrub/shuttle-wheel when scrubbing over long regions looking for clicks or pops; it's a pain doing this with a mouse and even worse with the trackball on a d-control...

Tip: make sure that you check "Edit insertion follows Scrub/Shuttle" in the PT preferences so your marker ends up at the point where you stop scrubbing.
