Good mixing headphones for Apogee Duet?

I have an Apogee Duet and am still searching for a good pair of mixing headphones for it. My Sony MDR-7506 sound too bright with this unit. What else can I try?

Is the Apogee Duet even a good source component for headphones for mixing? My MBOX 2 is a perfect match with the Sony MDR-7506. I use it for mixing all the time.

That brightness you're hearing is a comparison to how dull and rubbery sounding the MBox 2 generation was. I've used Grado's on Apogee Duet's with great results that translated well to high-end loudspeakers. Besides Grado, the only other headphones I like out there are high-end Sennheiser. But Grado has better bang for the buck.

How high end Sennheiser? Do you like 600 / 650 or do you only like 800?

Thanks, based on your recommendation I bought Grado SR-325is's. They seem very clear and straightforward in their sound. I'm going to experiment with mixing on these when the opportunity arises.

The Grados ended up being too fatiguing, so I am selling them. I got Sennheiser HD600's instead.

If you have any further problems, I highly recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro.
