Thread Starter | Update: Which dialog assembly ap are you using now?
Just trying to stay current on who is using what these days, and why. Please differentiate between which ap you use for dialog assembly and which you use for picture changes.

titan 4... still the best. handles properly made edls and polyfile source media with ease AND does great syncing. i don't use it for conforming after the initial build though...that gets handled by Conformalizer. good power combo thse two.

I use PT's fieldrecorder functionality for any AVID-based "feature" project. It's probably not the most elegant solution, but it's free and if you can talk things through with the editor beforehand it works. I only do one or two "features" a year, the rest is standard AAF and OMF delivery with final audio. Conformalizer after that, Justin is great. |

Interesting response so far. Four replies with four different aps. I like that there is some competition out there, because that usually means the developers of the aps will have to work hard on improvements in order to maintain market share.

Same here, Titan for conforming sync sound rushes and Conformalizer for picture changes. We used to use a version of Virtual Katy we got with one of the PT upgrades, but Conformalizer is more logical, has more features (edl and xml, though Virtual Katy might have this as well nowadays) and has the great ability to load the old and new QT next to the change list, to quickly check the changes, without starting the conform. Greetings, Thierry

Pyramix for location sound conforming, Virtual Katy for picture changes (but we're blocked with Nuendo as VK does not support N5 or 5.5).
