Thread Starter | Skype Audio Levels
When doing Skype audio sessions, I can never get the input level anywhere near as hot as the Skype Test Call girl. When I get the input close to that level, it seems to trigger a super-slow limiter that knocks the signal down about 10 dB with a recovery time of, well, never. Am I doing something wrong, or is that just the way it is?

it's probably built in compansion that makes it sound so rich. likely they're protecting overs to 'increase' call quality. I'd process and then send, maybe multiband compression with filters on the book ends, maybe 150 down and 16 up. I use skype a lot for podcasts and I always error on the lower side boosting in the analog realm on the receiving end.
