Hi.
I have a small room, where I do editing and pre-mixes. I have 5 A3x, and I found it superb. I really like it sound`s, and most of all, how it translates very well to the big dubber theatre`s where I do final mixes - and to the cinemas around the world.

If your room is small like mine, around 4X3X3 meters (WxLXH), the A7x will be big speakers. You also could buy 3 A7x to LCR and 2 A3x (or A5x) to surrounds.

I recommend.
best
r.

I have them in a surround mixing room in my studio

Estudio 2

They are with the Adam Subs. I am not really in love with them, the low and low mids aren't great, but for the money I think it works.

If I would think about buying now, I may go for Yamaha MSP5-7. I have a couple over here too and I find them a little more trustable, and so some other engineers I have shared opinions with about these monitors.

I've got 5 of the earlier A7 models, and could not be happier with them.
The sole caveat is that I am certain I remember reading somewhere that they are not suited to being placed behind a screen because of the ribbon tweeters....but I cannot find this reference so it is possible I misread it?

Love the monitors though.

Everything speaker-related is highly personal, but I like any ADAM and JBL for post work as they are not on the 'bright' side like Mackies or Genelecs, and thus translate better to TV and theaters.

Don't hear much about Dynaudio's lately??? They were popular ~10 yrs ago - the BM series.....

Dynaudios are precise but not as harsh as the Genelecs. Sweet spot was smaller too though. BM15 set is pretty powerful, but they do not translate very well to TV for me. Probably great for mastering. Nice but a bit too honest for me.

Do the Adam A7x translate TV and cinematic stages well ? I'm quite happy with my two Bluesky 6.5 plus sub, but I always like to hear about alternatives.

I used the BM6s for about a year in my first job. Although genelecs have quite a harsh top end, for my taste I actually found the BMs more brittle. I'm a happy genelec user.
