I've mixed some network promos in the past and this week I am mixing a few VH1 spots. I haven't seen the specs yet but I know they are typically very vague about levels, probably just a peak limit like -10 or -12 but nothing about loudness. How would you guys approach promo mixing, would you mix it like a program or hot like a commercial ?

The production company that is hiring hasn't given me a spec sheet despite having asked for one multiple times. they insist it is simply a stereo mix, no mention of levels at all and no stems or mix minus.
