I guess the "S" word must seem like a dirty word what with all the indie SFX library makers around here.. and fair enough.

What i should of asked for is can anyone recommend any other comprehensive SFX libraries

I'd recommend the hollywood edge stuff above the sonopedia stuff. I think Frank Bry does package pricing on his stuff as well, so you could spend a comprable amount and get the total coverage package that he sells.

The main benefit to SONOPEDIA 2.0 over other libraries is that you get free updates every three months and it's delivered on a GLYPH hard drive. The library is constantly being updated so it doesn't become obsolete after a few years like some of the other libraries.

PSE is also amenable to payment plans and annual licensing which can be helpful if you don't have 4 g's up front.

Yeah Jiegel, the life time free upgrades is my main attraction. Do you have any experience with the bundle? Quality? versatility? Though I just saw the Blastdrive ..now I'm really confused!

On another note, as well as getting the stock sounds I just purchased some libraries over at Hiss and Roar, awesome stuff for the unique sounds!

Quality is all super clean, Hi-Def. Lots of variety as well as repetition for some sounds, makes it very versatile in terms of production type it can be relied upon for.

BLASTDRIVE 2.0 comprises the entire Blastwave FX catalog, including the 30,000 sounds from SONOPEDIA 2.0, plus the 10,000 imaging elements from TITLEWAVE.

Truth be told, I recently started working for Pro Sound Effects (licensors of Blastwave FX, BBC, Foundation, Soundrangers, etc.), so of course I'm somewhat biased, but I'm also an NYU Music Tech grad and a sound designer myself, so I have worked first hand with a lot of different sound effects libraries.

The big thing about SONOPEDIA 2.0 is the value. For the level of quality + diversity and sheer # of sounds, it doesn't get better. Especially considering it comes on a Glyph drive and you get free updates for life...

Most of the large libraries with tens of thousands of sounds are in fact great as well, but their value decreases over time, whereas BWFX stuff maintains and adds value with updates and service.

Let me know if you have any more questions, happy to help!
