Large display of region number?

Is there a piece of software or an easy way to route the current selected track region number to a large window for counting takes? One of my clients uses the automatic numbering of regions in ProTools to count takes and would like to see a large visual counter on my window so everyone in the room knows the take number. I've seen custom hardware that displays this number, but it would be great to have in software form.

So for example region is named : luke_skywalker.01

The display would show : 01

Then on take two: luke_skywalker.02

The display would show: 02

Thanks!

I have never heard of such a thing... maybe a duplicate screen at a different resolution?

I hadn't heard of it either until I saw studios in LA that had built custom hardware counters to display this information.

I found a software company that is working up a prototype for me.

Thank you! I'd seen streamers but no mention of large visual take display. I'll call them. Thanks!

Streamers doesn't have that functionality but I'm building my own. I figured out a way to build it. Anyone here interested?

I'd be interested in finding out.

My alternative would be to have an intern/assistant hold up a blackboard with the take number written on it. Is this just for when recording or when you're editing as well? (So it'd show the take number of your highlighted region). I usually put different takes in different playlists.

It's while tracking. And we've hit take 452 easily during one day. Intern wouldn't do well.

Hey Max,

It's for my LA studio. When it's set up I'll let you know. If this works well I might sell it as a plugin. I've gotten a lot of interest.

Coding through airwindows. It's a little bit of a custom set up - not really a super simple thing I can sell as turnkey and effortless - but with a little set up it works perfectly. I also built in features to allow for punches within takes etc for my workflow.
