Transformers 111

Saw Transformers 3 last night at the Burbank AMC in IMAX 3D

Total amazing experience, I feel like this is the way movies should be seen. Loud and proud, AMAZING SOUND DESIGN, total emersion. Great mix, the Low end was nice and tight like a giant raquete ball pitched down. Story line was the best of the three and the VFX were insane, so much detail. I still can't understand the hate these movies get? The loudness level was just right throughout and it didn't sound squashed or over limited. It sounded like a giant video concert, which is what I expect when I shell out 40$ for tix for my wife and I (plus 30$ for popcorn, soda, skittles and nachos.lol). All well worth it except for the stomach ache. Greg Russell, Gary Summers, and Jeffery Haboush along with all the other sound people involved get major from me.

well. I will watch it again... because in the theatre I went, it sound only loud, I would`t say messy, but I expect more design and nuances... When I saw the making off on soundworks, I start to expect a lot more. But I also get some dis-belive counter effects when I saw the more and more extra violent fights between massive giant combustion powered iron machineries with fragile human bodies laying in between these extra heavy fire and fast giant movements... well...

I guess it's all opinion. I do see how you could want more delicate human sounds but personally everything I wanted to hear I heard, I didn't feel that it lent itself to having those types of sounds as there were never really any soft moments. Are you saying it sounded too loud for you Rcutz? It actually seemed quiter than the first one (I saw them both in imax)

.Jesse your gonna be stoked! view it in IMAX if possible.

Every time I view a movie in a regular cinema it's too quiet/too small/ playing out of the wrong speakers/ the 3D isn't very effective etc. Every time I see a film in IMAX.... BAM! it's pure awesomeness.

No!! I don't want ti hear soft or human sounds... At all! What happens is that at somepoint I trully dis belive in any chance of co-existence of humans and those machines fight in the same few square meters... :-)

I fell it to loud... And designless, but it don't mean it doesn't have very nice sounds...

Cheers

Two thumbs up, I thought the mix was great. Loud at the right spots, good reuse of the signiture sounds from the first two. I was looking for an audio/visual roller coaster and I got it!
