Compressor Plugin for Voiceover

Hi,

I'm looking for advice about what would be a good vst compressor plugin for radio voiceover work. The material that I want to produce is for a laid back radio station so something that provides a decent amount of gain reduction whilst sounding natural and transparent and not squashed would be good.

Doesn't have to be free, I'm prepared to pay money if it'll fit the bill.

Thanks

Hello fellow Adelaidian! Though a little outdated now, I find the Waves RVOX to be calibrated perfectly for voice-over work. Not sure if it can be had VST though. In this case I would reccommend any Sonalksis compressor/limiter. they are cheap, versatile, transparent, and a breeze to use!! Cheers -A

As far as transparency, I like oxford limitter although it is hard get used to in the begining. It is softer sounding when you set it right.

I recently played with the CL1B compressor from Softube

It's on my Xmas list!

+1 for CL1B
I didn't try it from Softube but I use it as TDM plugin by TC Electronic. Still Softube has developed the algorhythm so they should be pretty similar.

RComp from Waves
L2007 from Massey (a limiter but great too)
Vintage Warmer from PSP (Might be best option)

and recently Izoptope just released a very cool all in one vocal suite with compression, reverb, gating, expansion and limiting in a simple interface. It's called Nectar

iZotope Nectar | Complete Vocal Suite: Overview | 11 tools and effects including automatic pitch correction, manual note editor, style presets

CT4 is the poor man's VO comp, works great. I do also like RVox.

Softube CL1B is even better!!
