batch text editing with metadata

I'd like to take a folder of sound effects and paste the filename into the FILE COMMENT field. Once finished, I'd like to paste a tag to the end of the text in the FIELD COMMENT field. I'm assuming there must be a very simple piece of software to do this, but cannot find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Pro Tools 8, Mac 10.6.4

You can do this with Soundminer and the Administrator window

You could also do it with SoundMiner via the Dump Query to text file function, then editing the text in Excel and/or BBEdit, then reimport the text and embed

can i batch process? Soundminer seems like a very big hammer for this nut, I was thinking of something less complex, more...free

I think Maggot's Remetacator will do this. $199 But I haven't tried to do exactly what you want to do, so caveat emptor.

thanks. sadly, the demo doesn't do multiple files, which is EXACTLY what I'm interested in. 'contact us' I guess.
