Looking to rent 1hr budget VO ISDN studio in Hollywood

Hi, I wonder if anyone might be able to suggest a non expensive (below $300 all inclusive) for a one hour VO session that I need to record via ISDN with a Hollywood based actor? I will be connecting on the other end at an ISDN equipped studio in Orlando, FL.

So I need a VO studio with an engineer that's experienced at dealing with a VO talent being directed remotely via ISDN and doing the hookup ect. The Hollywood studio needs to be easy to find and deal with, my actor is 83 years old.

Many Thanks

Simon

I don't know if you're gonna find that. You have to pay both sides of the ISDN line and it takes time to hook things up. You're looking at a four hour shift at least on both sides.

$300 divided by 2 studios = $150 per studio.

$150 divided by 4hrs = $32.50/hr.

That doesn't cover normal rates for the recordist let alone the power bill.

I respectfully think you need to reevaluate your budget.

I would think that someone would be available if Florida dials.
Andy, I think the OP was only talking about just the Hollywood end.

Is that true for most Hollywood studios? We do VO sessions via ISDN on a regular basis all around the country and only deal with 1 hour blocks.

Perhaps if you find a studio that has to rent and setup an ISDN box per request you would want a good block of time to make sure it works. Places that specialize in VO and ISDN shouldn't require extra setup time.

Look up Marc Graue studios in Burbank. They are a solid studio for this kind of work. I'm not sure about location, but i remember their rates being in that ballpark.
