betacam problems

Hi,
I've just been given a job replacing the music on an infomercial. However they've given me the master tape and told me to remove the old music, leaving the original dialogue in place. i would then insert the new music into the old music channel
My first question would be is this even possible to remove just the music and leave the dialogue?
Actually thats my only question if anyone could help me would appreciate it.

Many Thanks
Dave.

Typically track one (left) would be Dx, dialogue and track two (right) would be music, SFx, ambient, etc... so if delivered to you like that, no sweat. If not, you / they have a problem and will have to go back to someone who has a version that is not mixed down.

betacam has 4 channels. Find out what's on each channel and then you'll know what to do..

Just to clarify, DIGI-Beta has 4 independent audio channels. Standard Betacam has 2, and Betacam SP has 2 linear audio channels and 2 FM audio channels accessible only during video recording.
On all infomercial masters I've delivered, the Digi-Beta the track layout has been: Channels 1 & 2 - Stereo Mix, Channel 3 -Voice stem and Channel 4 - M&E stem. Hopefully you can get your hands on the stems.
