I happened to see this movie over the holiday weekend at the Arclight Hollywood and it was ear-shatteringly loud. Anyone else see it and get the same experience? While the weapons and vehicles and fights sounded very cool, I'm just wondering if the theatre had the volume turned up waaay past 11.

I notice a lot of movies being really loud. I wear earplugs to the theater now.

The Arclight in Hollywood is one of the best venues in town. It is calibrated by Dolby on a regular basis. Many Industry screenings are done there. If you heard it loud then it must be LOUD.

Yup, Sly wanted it loud. During the mix he asked (I shit you not), "I want to hear every blade of grass." But then he also wanted it to be the loudest movie.... ever. Or something. |

Thread Starter | Thanks for the inside dirt, Stuart. Kinda figured it may have been a creative decision.

(making sign-language sounds to Stuart and the mixers on this one) " I enjoyed this film but wow would I not want to have been a mixer on this one... hdna down the loudest movie I've heard all year. I can't imagine going over and over and over and over those battle scenes...I hope they had a nice career...(sad chuckle)" But nice job--I was actually impressed with the details that came through all the crash bang boom but at one point laughed out loud when jusssst when you thought enough things had blown up... And I also laughed once thinking "was there a foley crew on this? did they have to do anything past reel 3?" Jeff
