Omnisphere what's your opinion good or bad

I place this in another thread by mistake. I'm thinking of purchasing the omnisphere software. I have seen some clips on utube and the software and sounds appeal to me very much. I'm just wondering if any of you are using this software if so what is your opinion of its capabilities and sound quality? Thanks Mike

The other alternative would be Alchemy.

I second the alternative that is Alchemy.

Omnisphere is good. The only thing not good is the inability to use your own samples in it, which is where Alchemy comes in.

I own both.

I just bought Alchemy myself, based on the Jim Stout videos on the Designing Sound web site (What a great web site!). It's inexpensive, versatile and very deep. I wish it worked with Pro Tools, but it's really not a problem working with it in Logic Studio and then importing into Pro Tools for the mix. I've only just scratched the surface of it's capabilities and am really loving what I find.

Use the FXpansion VST to RTAS converter, or use VEP to host your VI's outside PT.

It's a great collection of synths but I've found it more useful for writing music than sound design...

I haven't tried it yet but I've heard nothing but good things about alchemy...is that rtas wrapper stable?
