Sound Request 2 Stroke 250 CC Motocross

Hey All I am looking for a 2 stroke moto X bike engine sound. Particularly a slow accel or constant driving sound. I only need about 10 seconds worth.

Willing to trade something from my personal library of course.

Thanks all!

Your best bet is to:

A)Find someone with a dirt bike who is willing to let you record.

B)Rent a field recorder and a couple mics.

C)Record the bike and get exactly what you need for your project.

D)Sell your sounds on a web site if you think they are good enough.

Thanks Andy but I am in a wicked time crunch here and can not afford to do that. I am in a large city and to get a clean recording it would involve renting / borrowing a vehicle and leaving the city thus costing too much time.

Hoping someone has this sound to trade

sounddogs.com

I searched for 2 stroke and came up with a lot of the Honda cr-250, which I haven't ridden, but looks an awful lot like a 2 stroke. Fudge it if you have to.

The guy who runs sounddogs is a nice guy, and an audio engineer by trade - so you'd be supporting the industry with purchase.

I think trades are probably left to offline emails. It's a touchy subject, not to mention illegal in the eyes of the law.

Happy Hunting

(ps. I'd kill for a KTM)

Hmm, you bring up an interesting question.

Are trades REALLY illegal? I mean, lets say I record a bike sound. I own that sound. I then offer to trade it to you for your own recording of a monster truck. We both agree (in writing) that we are trading sounds for sync use and grant rights to use it again and again in various projects. I don't see what would be illegal here at all. Gonna ask my entertainment attorney this question on monday!

I also would love a MOTOX bike but I will stick to my downhill mountainbike for now :-) I get pretty stoked with it e.

Thanks Mike! Will support sounddogs and buy the sound there today! Cheers

Nothing illegal about trading sounds that you own, Mike's talking about trading sounds from a commercial library or that otherwise belong to someone else. Even if you bought a cd library, you essentially paid a license fee to use those sounds, but it'd be illegal to give them to someone else for their commercial use.

Well of course! I would never trade stock sounds that I purchased from a company. I thought that was clear in the OP when I said "personal library" but I guess I should have said that the sound the other party would be trading must be owned and sourced by them as well! thumbsup Thanks for clearing that up!

Yep, meant Library...

Haven't had the fortune to record many on-site sound workups yet... mostly BG's and local hard FX.

Plus, I'd probably get caught up riding the bike instead of recording it (wink)

Yeah, trading personally recorded sounds are fine. You own the rights, unless it's special equipment recording with express consent from originator/creator... but that's just common sense.
