Hope everyone at One Discovery Place is ok. I'm glad it's over.

yeah, that guy. We were following it over email all day.

People on the 9th floor were sending emails and tweets.

you know my initial reaction after hearing the headline was that some poor mixer/post guy finally snapped after trying to figure out/meet their delivery specs! LOL

All joking aside though, I'm glad nobody was hurt in the incident and I hope everyone can return to work tomorrow.

"We were working on Raiders [of the Lost Ark]. He [Ben Burt] told me that the sound source for opening the lid of the ark in the last reel was within 20'. I couldn't figure it out. It turned out to be lifting the back off the toilet above the water chamber, and slowing it down." -Tomlinson Holman

Very shocking stuff. It's the last place I would ever expect something like this to happen. (doesn't everyone say that?)

I worked at Discovery up until about a year ago & many of my friends were in the HQ tweeting/facebooking during the whole ordeal.

One of my FB friends (producer) said at one point that she was on the 9th floor hiding from the gunman. Another producer friend said that she was walking into the lobby when all of this went down. The gunman turned toward her & a couple of coworkers detoured her from going all the way in.

I'm still totally in shock that this happened. Very thankful for Law Enforcement & happy that everyone is ok!

Good joke. Apparently the perp was upset because he felt that DC was fraudulent for not supporting global population reduction. Ironically he wound up co-opting DC into reducing the number of humans on Earth by one when the cops took him out, thus putting an end to the incident.
