Need Soumd Design Help

Hi all

I am on a tight time frame, and need some help on how to design ski/snowboard sounds.

More specifically swooshing and carving sounds, ranging from light snow to compact.

I really don't have time to mess around a lot. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Believe it or not, loose leaf paper on various types of carpeting and/or granular stuff like sand, sugar, flower, cornstarch and the like can be very convincing.

I've had luck heavily doppler'ing whooshes/car-bys/ice/heavy dragging sounds and laying in some powder/particle fx over it - really get that 'cut' impact. If you need a base layer TheRecordist.com has some nice snow fx

Get a couple hundred pounds of shaved ice, a snowboard and a gung ho friend and do a recording session on a foley stage or in a quiet garage if you don't have a budget. The ice is cheap. This is often the way these things are done.
