Never seen a side of a stereo pair go missing, but I have opened sessions where entire tracks (a couple times, ENTIRE SESSION WAS BLANK!) had gone missing. Wonders of technology. How often are you saving safety copies/backups? Jeff

Yes, I see this occasionally. Best case scenario is that a file was moved, worst case is that your drive directory is getting corrupt. Can PT find the missing files?

That's the funny thing. The left channel is not even in the region list. Maybe i do need to run disk utility on the FX drives....

I agree with reichman, try a disk verify t repair catalog if necessary. But usually this is bad linking - sometimes even though the file is in the audio bin. it's drives me nuts when it happens. If it's there (in bin) spot in, otherwise it might have been mistakenly deleted from the folder before transport and you'll have to ask for it again. Dump Databases too..?? |

Not recently. On occasion some Half of the regions were missing but then found on the drive. Some were named wrong (with out the .R or .L), So check you drives. It seems to have got me when I was doing a drag & drop from the Finder into ProTools. |

Are you on a network, i.e. other rooms can access your session? I've had random Audiofiles dissapearing (like they were never recorded) because someone was copying a session folder to their suite while I was working on it. Of course this is something you shouldn't be doing. Run Diskwarrior on the disk and you might be lucky. It has saved me several times. Good luck |
