Nuendeo sync with Logic

Hi there,

I was wondering if it is possible to sync Logic pro 9 as slave to Nuendo 5, so you can internaly route the audio and midi as audio from Logic into Nuendo? So you can do the overall mix in Nuendo5

Anyone experience with this?
This will be on one Mac with a Apogee Duett
I ask this in this section because it is in a small sounddesign post-production suite

cheers,

G-Lay

Hello,
All on one Mac? Well, yes, you can, but you're better off with another solution that I'll get to in a minute.

If you really have to do it all on one machine then you can use something like SoundFlower or another one I can't remember - they set up virtual audio busses in the computer which you can route between apps. Midi already does this via the IAC bus.

You really don't want to do it this way - both apps will be working pretty hard sharing. You'd be better off buying an iMac or even a MacMini and running Logic on that (or the other way around) and purchasing an inexpensive audio interface to send audio digitally back and forth, or using one of the utilities to send audio over lan (forgot the names). Those have had mixed reviews but you can eventually get them to work.

That would both be the Jack Audio Connection Kit, I believe.
Also, you should be able to sync them via MTC over virtual MIDI, so you can use automation in Nuendo as well.
Also, a lot of people use Logic + Harrison Mixbus in this way (on one machine), but I can imagine the Mixbus is way easier on the resources then the Nuendo.
