Jules, WTF?

Jules,
Once again today I click my shortcut to get to “Gearslutz”
To get to the Post Forum:
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/post-production-forum/

And I get “No Page Found”.

I then go to the main page of “Gearslutz” :
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/

and then click on the “post production" link and again get this

Post Production forum! - Gearslutz.com

it is this:http://www.gearslutz.com/board/f97/

This has happened previously with the last 2 weeks.
What is going on?

Same thing keeps happening to me. It has to do with a reference in the URL that keeps changing from /post-production-forum/ to /f97/. One day it's one and the next it's the other.

And "remember me" hasn't been working for weeks for me, whatever settings I have for cookies.

And when I try use the browser's back button to return to the top forum, it references to scripts within the same page I'm on, requiring anywhere between two and ten clicks until it actually jumps back a page. (Safari + Chrome, Mac as well as PC). Solar flares?

I think this post title is crass and very rude - the creator of this forum deserves more respect than to have his name called out followed by a comma and the shorthand 'WTF?'

This is presumably a short term minor irritation. Why not ask for information in a respectful manner. The last time I checked this is a free service and Jules does not owe you anything.

I think you misunderstand Gearslutz texting short hand. WTF actually stands for "Where's the (f...ing) forum".

that's something that happens often. In the mails I received there goes something wrong:

Jules, WTF?
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/post-production-forum/519714-jules-wtf.html
In
forum: Post Production forum!
Started by: dr.sound

the In from In Forum is added to the link and when you click on it the forum could not be found. (e.g. the link opens as: 'http://www.gearslutz.com/board/post-production-forum/519714-jules-wtf.htmlIn')

I just remove the 'In' in my browser...

kind regards from Belgium

Send a message via Skype™ to Dallas Taylor
Just to beat a dead horse, I've had the "page not found" issue as well over the past few weeks.

I've always bookmarked: Post Production forum! - Gearslutz.com

Thanks for making a killer forum that I have to check 3-4 (or more!) times every day

I love when people barge into a forum, and talk crap. Not knowing anything about the history of the person they're talking about.

apologies - it seems that generally WTF stands for 'what the ****'? so Im sure you can understand my post. Im quite surprised it also stands for 'where is the forum'...
There is no need to defend yourself - it is a simple understanding - I hope you can see I was merely making the comment for a good reason based on my knowledge of 'the lingo' used more generally around t'internet...

if you press the 'new posts' button - you see all the latest threads - and having seen this 'WTF' post in the feed I decided to comment. No barging involved. Not talking crap really - pretty straight forward (and not unsurprising) mis-undersatnding.

Lesson learned re: WTF?!

Have had issues as well, though not sure if they're related..
On two separate occasions and mac's, my hosts file was logged with the TLD for gearlsutz as the loopback address (127.0.0.1). I thought for a few days it meant that the site was down, But I check that file sometimes because I web develop and realized both permutations were in there (with and without www)

Just and FYI.

Marti, call if you can't get it fixed.

We had period (about a week) one week ago where intermittantly, the URL of some threads had an 'f' placed in it. This was a bug and has now been fixed.

However, if you are still going through past email notices from the forum (catching up on things a week old) you are going to encounter these non working links and there is nothing that can be done. Just use the search function to find the thread.
