Final Cut to Vegas (OMF/XML)

Hey all,

Bit of a newbie to the whole post process and not an owner of any AVID software. I usually use Vegas to edit to video. So my problem is as follows:

I got an OMF or XML file I need to open/convert. The video editor sent me an XML file after I let him know I cannot open OMF files.

Now vegas can only open AAF files, and I was not able to find any resources on using meta data from the XML file in Vegas.

I could use Reaper, Live or Cubase. Although I prefer working with vegas on video projects.

Has anyone found a solution to work with any Finalcut exports in Vegas? Any help is greatly appreciated

Automatic Duck, Inc.

This is what I used to get AAF from FCP.
It's Plugin that needs to be installed on the FCP machine.

Thanks EOats, they have the Automatic duck plugin that translates the wrong way... Dont ask me why.

Thanks for the suggestions tho guys!

It's a project they do for their portfolio only, not for a client so budget is thight. I'll send it to a friend with Logic or PT and have him export it to AAF.
